Paper Corporate Governance and Dividend Payout Policy
The main objectives of this study are the following: to know if there is a sufficient knowledge about corporate governance and its principle in Jordan; to know what are the advantages and benefits of corporate governance and its principle for Jordanian companies; and finally to know if there is a relation between corporate governance and dividend payout policy. To achieve those objectives a questionnaire was distributed on the study sample which contains 90 Jordanian companies.
The findings show that there is no a sufficient knowledge about corporate governance and its principle, and most of the Jordanian companies doesn’t have any special committee in the company to proceed the corporate governance principle, and a written code of corporate governance wherein the right of shareholders. The corporate governance and its principle lead to some advantages, which is beneficial for the company. The results also show that there is a relation between corporate governance and dividend payout policy.
